ADELE – INSPIRED BY KLIMT – P.O.A.

I have always adored the work by Gustav Klimt.

My large 102 x 102cm painting of Adele is a highly detailed mixed media painting and I created numerous sketches of my own design to achieve this painting.

I have used many different metallic gold and silver leaf and other foils, with lots of layers of gold paints and printing techniques to achieve my own figurative representation, inspired by this great Austrian artist. I have paid close attention to the details regarding Klimt’s shapes and symbolisms, his Tree of Life for example, the significance of the spirals and the stylised Blackbird; furthermore, the use of gold which is apparent throughout this bespoke painting which hosts gold paint on all four sides of the deep 8cm high quality box canvas. ©

As said, I’ve always adored the work by Gustav Klimt and with my doing my Cathartic Healing artworks on paper some years ago and understanding of what Klimt’s work stands for, I wanted to incorporate my pointillism style and experiences and interpretation into this special painting. I sketched many designs of how I wanted this to pan out and after many weeks, this was the end result. I have added my 0.1 & 0.2 fine line pen pointillism into the work…look and you’ll find.
